Our grandchildren loved getting Pillow Pets that Light Up for Christmas. In fact, I took the almost 4 year old shopping and told him to let me know what he would like for Christmas. I Love how it Lights Up with the Stars, Penquin's Face and a Moon too.

I took these photos of the Pillow Pets with Night Light in a very dark room so I could test this out and give an accurate Pillow Pets Dream Lites Reviews. I was impressed that the stars, face and moon are crisp and distinguishable on the wall and ceiling. I really enjoyed how it rotated automatically through the 3 Different Colored Lights - Blue, Green and Yellowish Orange.

The 20 Minute Timer is essential to save battery life. 3 AAA Batteries Needed. Make sure you put the batteries in the Dreamlight Pillow Pet before giving it as a gift. The little one will be anxious to try it out and watch the starry sky. (small phillips screwdriver needed to open the secure encasement for the batteries).

Personally, I would use this as a means to get a child to bed, learn how to count the stars and fall asleep instead of a toy. You can buy the power adapter or chances are one you have in your home might even work.

I highly recommend the Pillow Pets Dream Lites as I was more excited about once I bought it than as seen on TV and watching someone buy it in the store. Amazon is so convenient. I had to ask 2 different store clerks where the Pillow Pets and the Dream Lites Pillow Pets were located in the store. I was very disappointed by the small selection as well and the price was higher on the day I looked for it.

The First Large Photo is the Dream Lites Pillow Pet with a Starry Sky Nightlight which has a 20 minute timer. The top is a hard plastic with starry cut outs to create dreamy stars, moon and the animals face on the ceiling and walls in your child's bedroom. It requires 3 AAA batteries and a small screwdriver to open up the battery encasement. This encasement is nicely covered by a Velcro soft matching fabric flap. See photos below to see the battery box area which is located on the belly of the Pillow Pets that lights up.

The day I priced out the Dream Lites Pillow Pets, the large local store was about 30 to 40% higher in price than the Amazon prices. Amazon prices vary regularly but I feel shopping at Amazon is like a sale every day for the most part. Get it shipped directly to your home or to the child's home. Every dreamlights pillow pets that I looked at on Amazon had FREE Super Saving Shipping but do make sure before purchasing.

This next photo is the Pillow "Pillow Pet." It opens up as a flat super soft pillow or you can pull the legs together and attach the strap on the bottom and in a couple of seconds you have a Pet. First is my Review of the Penquin Pillow Pet with Night Light:

Amazon has a slightly better selection than the large discount store I drove to which was about 20 minutes away. I had a difficult time finding the Pillow Pet lites but after asking a clerk TWICE, I finally found them.

The fur is really, really soft. I like the packaging because you can take the dream light Pillow Pet out of the box, put in the 3 AAA Batteries and Put it right back into the box without any ripping of the box or tearing anything except 2 strings that hold the Pillow Pets that light up in the box.

Some of them had a Plastic removable top protecting the Starry Plastic Cover on top of the pillow pet.

On the day that I looked at the store with the Pillow Pet Lites, there was a much bigger discount at Amazon. Today Amazon's price is still lower but not as much as before. Amazon prices change daily. I can usually save a good amount of money, time and convenience by shopping at Amazon and the Free Super Saving Shipping on so many products is really nice too.

Battery Compartment is Secured by One Small Screw

At first I didn't like the fact that you needed a small Phillips or Flathead Screwdriver but immediately realized it was for the safety of the child so the batteries stay securely in place. Be sure to have the 3 AAA Batteries and have a small screwdriver handy when you give the gift or put the batteries in before wrapping up the dreamlights Pillow Pet. I recommend putting the batteries into the dream light pillow pets ahead of time. That way the child can turn it on right away and be dazzled by the stars and cute face lights.

The battery cover is then covered with a Velcro attached matching flap. You can lay the Pilow pet flat or turn it into a pet by strapping the bottom together.

20 Minute Timer Turns the Colorful Nightlights OFF

I love the fact that it has a "20 minute Timer" to automatically turn off when the child is asleep. This will save you a lot of money in batteries. Pillow Pet with Night Light is so much fun. I went into a dark area of the house with very light walls and turned it on. I was VERY iimpressed with the details of the stars and even more excited when I saw the Penquins face light up too for more interest .

Different light colors glow onto the walls of Stars and the little Pillow Pets face. They gently fade away to the next color. Orange, Blue and Green. My favorite is the blue but the photos don't do it justice.

I came out of the room telling my husband "I WANT ONE". We are planning on giving Pillow Pet Dream Lite gifts to the grandchildren for Christmas.

Tips on getting a toddler to stay in bed and creating new nighttime beddy bye habits. It may seem impossible but these tips my mother taught me really worked. My son was a bit hyper and he just wouldn't stay in bed. Up and down and on it goes. Read here "How to Get a Toddler to Stay in Bed."

1. Take your child to the bathroom and have a tiny little drink of water. (make sure your son or daughter drinks more water during the day to avoid the nighttime "thirsties" and avoid having to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Drinking less at night will also help with potty training).
2. I grew up with my mom singing Good Night Sweet Dreams Sweetheart to us when we went to bed. I kept up the tradition by singing this song to my children when I tucked them in. See the YouTube Videos below for old old recordings of this beautiful song or sing a Lullaby that you know and love.
3. Read or tell an easy going and a bit boring story in an oh so soft voice.
4. After saying your prayers, I love you and all the kisses and hugs, look up at the ceiling with her and count the stars together from the dream light Pillow Pet Ask her how high she can count or count with her. It will be like counting sheep and hopefully she will doze off after counting so many from the Pillow Pet dream light. This is a two fold benefit. Learning how to count and taking her mind off of needing to get up.
5. How to Get a Toddler to STAY in Bed:

   THIS IS THE TIP THAT FINALLY WORKED AT KEEPING MY SON IN BED.

   WIth the door closed, stand by the door. As soon as your son or daughter gets out of bed, place them back in bed without saying a single word. Do this every night until they stay in bed on their own. I believe it only took 2 maybe 3 nights of doing this until my 2 year old son stayed in bed. This really works.

   My mom had 5 rambunctious kids. She knows a lot of great tips and I really appreciated the tips.

   Make sure you don't say even one word when putting them back into bed. You don't want to get into arguing or any other stimulating conversation. They will learn. Do this when you are able to continue this every single night. For some children one time might work, for others it could take a week but be consistent.
